2020 Cult Movie Challenge Week 36: USA Up All Night Week This one was a solid upgrade on the original, and I appreciated how it incorporated just the tiniest bit of the later Alan Moore-era lore (i.e. the psychedelic chest-potato love scene) while also keeping the tone just campy enough to still be fun. From what I've read, Louis Jourdan had basically zero patience for director Jim Wynorski and flat-out refused to read certain lines that he thought were too silly or sexist, but other than that he gives a perfectly good and memorable villain performance. I was also pleasantly surprised by how well Heather Locklear (whom I had no particular well-formed opinion on as an actress per se) was able to run with the goofy comedic dialogue; although I'm a little disappointed that she didn't end up having a bigger career in movies as opposed to television, I can see why she was able to find a niche both in nighttime soaps and sitcoms.
