I had this one in my Hulu queue a couple of years ago, right before they yanked the Criterion titles, and I sadly missed my window. So I was happy to see it pop up on the free Roku Channel just in time for Halloween. My biggest disappointment with this movie was the pacing, which is weirdly glacial even for a 1950s horror film. The many detours to check in with the locals ultimately detract from what I had assumed would be something a bit more straightforward. The Blob FX are appropriately uncanny, but mostly I was a bit bored.
