a review of 浩劫
Gareth Evans goes full comic book insanity. Over the top, ridiculously bloody, everyone has unlimited ammo never needing to reload, and Tom Hardy dropkicks a motherf*cker. The plot is messy, convoluted, generic, borderline straight-to-DVD “everyone’s corrupt” crap, but man does this really lives up to its namesake in the best of ways. If you want art then go elsewhere. Come to see the director of the two Raid movies, the greatest action films of all time, just having some glorious, gonzo, incredibly stylish fun delivering the type of meticulous, high-octane brutality only he can. Nothing more, nothing less. A delight all the same.
