HOOPTOBER ORIGINS 2.0 NIGHT ONE: I think I might have had completely the wrong idea about this movie, based on just seeing the posters and stills of Karloff in dusty mummy wrappings, and the tendency of modern depictions (although curiously enough, not the Brendan Fraser Mummy movies!) to focus the physical rather than the metaphysical side of mummies. This is less of a reanimated corpse movie and more like Karloff doing his own spin on Lugosi's Dracula, an elegant undead necromancer who's just looking for love.
