I think what makes this so great is that one isn't really sure where it's headed, and when it starts wrapping up it's hard not to be shocked or surprised that that's where it went. Francine's (a terrific Sandy Dennis) incessant talking is somewhat of a foreshadowing of what would later come from Shelley Duvall in 3 Women and its easy to see the charm in the young man (an equally delightful Michael Burns) that Francine saw. And then shit goes sideways in the most delightful way. I'm still teetering between 4.5 and 5, but I'll stick with 4.5 for now.
