2021 CULT MOVIE CHALLENGE WEEK 30: KAIJU WEEK Apparently this one was originally conceived as a Rankin/Bass King Kong sequel before Toho turned it into a Godzilla-centric movie, which explains why we're screwing around in yet another jungle island setting with superstitious natives and such. This one was featured on MST3K, and is currently one of the "lost" episodes that never got a DVD release due to Toho's objections. All that said, it's not a bad Godzilla outing and has a pretty fun sci-fi plot with terrorists trying to mind-control a giant crab monster that Godzilla has to fight.
