2 Jump Scares 2 Many This movie is significantly better than the first, but I do feel like removing a couple of the jump scares would tighten things up in all the right ways. Also, as much as I didn't like the first one, I both love and hate how this picks right back up where that one left off. Love because it smartly tied the two together (also that opening was great!), but hate it because I would have a hard time recommending the first movie to anyone but think it's almost necessary to be able to get to the good stuff - luckily not as bad as saying a show doesn't get good until the third season, but still. Lastly, if I were more generous, I would go as high as 4 stars, but I absolutely hate the actual "Smile Monster" so much.
