2021 CULT MOVIE CHALLENGE WEEK 32: SOMETHING WEIRD VIDEO WEEK Definitely a left-field pick and an interesting early Japanese take on European New Wave aesthetics. The main character is maybe just a bit too reprehensible in his actions (which include sexual assault and rape) to count as a James Dean-like delinquent antihero, but the way the movie directly links his alienation to the conditions of occupied Japan raises some excellent questions about the country's postwar transformation.
