2020 Cult Movie Challenge Week 48: Herschell Gordon Lewis Week Having only seen one other Lewis movie (the MST3K version of "Monster A-Go-Go") I wasn't necessarily sure what to expect here. But now having watched this one he does really push the envelope of what can rightly be considered as an actual movie, and not just a series of amateur night skits and haunted-house scenes that sort of happen to be captured on film. The gorier aspects feel pretty quaint by the standards of what would come just a decade or so later, but there is something weirdly compelling about how dedicated Lewis is to playing up the Guignol here.
