HOOPTOBER OCHO NIGHT THIRTY-TWO I wanted a LOT more from this one that I just didn't get. Thematically, it touches on issues of respectability politics by superimposing a Black criminal stereotype onto a model college student and throwing in a wrongful-accusation plot, but in doing so it still kind of reinforces the stereotype. I think if it had been made outside of the '70s blaxploitation context we might have gotten something a bit less self-consciously lurid, but as it is I found this one hard to digest.
