a review of 养鬼吃人

Looking back on it now, Hellraiser feels like a total retro piece, more so than a lot of other 80s horror. It's mainly because the cultural scenes that it drew from (punk and metal, S&M and fetish art) all feel kind of quaint these days, if not necessarily safe or mainstream. The FX are a lot rubberier than I remembered, although certain bits (like Frank's slow, gloopy resurrection from a pair of arms and a spinal column) are still quite effective 30+ years later.
