#31: The Darjeeling Limited (streaming on Google Play) On the heels of my rewatch of The Life Aquatic, I've decided to finally catch up the past decade of Wes Anderson's films, starting with the first one of his that I missed back in 2007: The Darjeeling Limited. Truth be told, this one felt to me like a bit of a retread of Anderson's previous films, although the gorgeous Indian scenery and atmosphere added a lot to the overall effect. The movie and characters didn't really come together for me until the funeral flashback at about the 2/3 point, which makes me wonder if perhaps more of those could have been sprinkled in to fill in some of the elliptically-reference backstory. As it was, the whole thing was entertaining enough, but still felt somewhat slight, as though there was some missing ingredient. All in all, a solid use of ~90 minutes.
