a review of 性本恶

MANNVANUARY DEUX #15: It's possible that I might just have had one beer too many before starting this one, but I found it kind of impenetrable, which I gather is par for the course with a Pynchon adaptation (I've never read any Pynchon). The whole first hour feels like it's just Phoenix having a series of elliptical conversations with random characters, and by the time it started resembling a conventional private eye yarn I'd kind of checked out. I may need to give this one a second viewing at some point, but I can definitely see what folks were talking about with this one being kind of a tough sit.
