香槟情缘 - 评论
I had something really long written about this movie, but it doesn't deserve all those words. There are a few things I think would've made it better, though:
- You pinky-promised your sister that you'd have some "me time" on your two-night work trip, so your first order of business to is to go to a bookstore with an English Language section so you can buy her a self-help book? Why not write it so that the gal just wanted to go to a bookstore because she herself likes to read?
- The guy she meets has an emotional attachment to The Little Prince. At the end, when she goes back to finally buy a book, why not show her buying The Little Prince instead of the fake self-help book How To Be You or whatever the hell it's called? She already had a growth moment, she doesn't need the self-help book anymore.
- Girl packs a carry-on for a two-night trip. She ends up staying for five-ish days but has clothes for all five days and like three thick wool jackets? Was this the holiday magic they were hoping to display - a magical carry-on bag with room for all that? Why not write that she's an over-packer so that she can struggle with over-sized luggage like a dumb American instead? Have fun with it! Have the Europeans joke about it, show some physical comedy with her schlepping the thing around or others trying to help her with it/get out of her way, or her and her dude go to grab the handle at the same time and now they're holding hands or something. I can find room in my heart to enjoy a dumb holiday movie, but don't make me feel like I could've written it better when it ends. Shit! I still wrote a lot of words. My apologies.
