1st Annual Criterion Challenge: Week 10: Directed by Agnès Varda My first experience with watching Varda, and it definitely won't be my last. The way the movie feels both natural and unhurried while also managing to give us a bird's eye view of the title character's life and personal troubles makes this a miracle of writing, direction, and performance. The ending is beautifully crafted in how it offers both an apparent reprieve from Cléo's worries, while also serving to confirm that mortality never stops being a factor and how we choose to deal with it is important.
