2021 CULT MOVIE CHALLENGE WEEK 23: THE ASYLUM WEEK This movie definitely has some structural issues; I literally could not tell you who half of the fairy-tale princesses in this movie were or what their powers were until maybe 3/4 of the way through. But on the other hand, the production values were just good enough that you could probably mistake it for an early-2010s CW action show pilot, which means that the filmmakers basically accomplished their goal here. Lou Ferrigno actually comes off the best here, and it feels like he's somewhat invested in making his character a little bit more than was probably written on the page. Casper van Dien seems miscast as the trickster villain, but then again he's seemed miscast in basically everything I've seen him in, so I guess that's just par for the course.
