HOOPTOBER ONE NIGHT TWENTY-TWO: + PODCAST MACABRE 2022 HORROR CHALLENGE #27: FROM THE 1970s YOU HAVE NOT SEEN BEFORE There were a lot of things about this movie that didn't fully add up for me while I was watching it, but after seeing the whole thing and thinking about it for a while I get the sense that maybe all of the raw edges weren't supposed to match up and a few pieces were intentionally left missing. As it is, it's a fun play on both Psycho and Rear Window, with some really cool split-screen suspense sequences that (like the rest of the movie) slightly defy narrative logic but are very slickly done. So far (and quite by accident) I've managed to watch three of William Finley's most popular movies after only being kind of dimly aware of him as a genre actor. He's a pretty interesting and unnerving screen presence and now I wonder why he kind of disappeared from movies in the mid-'80s.
