We went to see it today, we were entertained and it's a nice check-in with the current DC universe. I was really impressed with the alien makeups/FX, they were different enough from the Trek/Wars style of creature designs while still feeling of a piece with the pulp SF world. Kinda wondered if Momoa as Lobo was added during some intermediate reshoot phase of production, because he didn't interact directly with our main duo in the same shots/scenes much at all? I also kinda wonder if we'll end up circling back to Krumholtz as Zor-El as the "good dad/uncle" counterpart to Jor-El now that the latter has been revealed as an imperialist wackadoo. I appreciate that the new DCU is focusing on character stakes rather than end-of-world/macguffin based stakes, and there still being a sense of scale even with all the way-out space stuff going on.
