a review of 玩具熊的五夜惊魂2
Reveals one of the FNaF franchise’s biggest issues to an even wider audience: Scott Cawthon can’t write worth a shit. The property’s incomprehensibly stupid lore is on full display. Altogether making the movie a pretty accurate representation of its source material’s overall quality if you think about it. Pros:
- The Marionette is creepy
- They added a bit of blood
- Makes fun of how moronic the changes to the gameplay were in that second installment
- Plenty of fanservice and visual references fans will get a kick out of. Cons:
- The animatronics take a backseat to the idiotic storytelling which makes the whole thing boring
- The script
- The acting is atrocious with Josh Hutcherson in particularly clearly not even trying because he didn’t want to be there and possibly having chugged a couple of bottles of NyQuil before each scene
- Completely wastes Mckenna Grace. She’s only here so they can use her name
- The animatronics move in slow motion and every step they take is so loud it makes no sense how they’re able to sneak up on people or catch them at all
- It sucks Narrowly manages to avoid beating out Minecraft as the worst video game adaptation and worst movie I’ve seen from 2025 thus far.
