1st Annual Criterion Challenge A film from the Eclipse series: Daisies (1966) Didn't really know anything about this film going in, but I can see its fingerprints on a ton of things from the past 50 years. Plotwise, it's hard to see a narrative or even a thematic throughline, but the cumulative effect of seeing these young women barrelling through all social norms for 70+ minutes feels like a precursor of the punk and riot grrrl movements and all of the feminist visual culture that came in its wake.
