伤心小号曲 - 评论

HOOPTOBER NINE! NIGHT TWENTY-FIVE! Definitely a wild time at the movies, and realizing midway through that it was done by the same director as DAY OF THE BEAST made a lot of the crazier stylistic flourishes really click for me. It's maybe a little bit too chaotic and scattershot to really qualify as a satire of Spain under fascism, or even of "nice-guy"/angry-incel gender politics, but I think it's to the movie's credit that we can kind of attach those ideas to the Grand Guignol drama that Álex de la Iglesia paints here. I think I'm going to need to revisit this one sometime soon and see how it plays on a second viewing with other people in the room.
