a review of Hamnet

哈姆奈特 - 评论

Jessie Buckley and all of the child actors were excellent, the visuals were great, and I did tear up at points, but the parts of the story I found most compelling to consider were the ones shown with the shallowest depth. And as a general enjoyer of thoughtfully paced movies, there were moments that went on a little too long that did nothing but make me a little bored. Tighten it up! Also, and I admit that this is such a stupid thing, but the card at the beginning explaining that Hamnet and Hamlet are interchangeable...yeah! We get it. Lastly, there were a couple moments near the end that were supposed to be moving, but I had to bite my tongue so as to not laugh. They unfortunately were Jessie Buckley moments, but I really did think she was excellent so I don't blame her for the moments being as hokey as I found them to be.
