#95 (April 5/30) (This review is for the Rifftrax Live! version of the film) Lots of fun! I'd already seen the "studio" version of this riff when I bought it a few months ago, but the live vibe on this one made it feel quite fresh. I don't recall Mike/Kevin/Bill working quite as "blue" in the earlier one, but it worked here to hilarious effect, egged on by the frankly inept cursing ("Those son-of-a-bitches...") in this rare R-rated Rifftrax offering. The cheapass '80s cop movie genre, rife with gunfights in motel parking lots and inappropriately bougie set dressing, is an underplumbed milieu for riffing, and definitely sets Rifftrax apart from the old and new MST3K as we go forward.
