HOOPTOBER NINE! NIGHT TWENTY-TWO! Literally never thought about watching the first movie until I heard about this absolutely bonkers concept for a prequel starring the original actress (now in her mid-20s) playing a younger version of the ostensibly 10-year-old title character. And now that I've seen both of them, I'm glad that I did. This one doesn't quite fire on all of the same cylinders as the original, especially in the early going where it feels very much like a lazy retread, but the mid-film twist (which I will not spoil) gives it a jolt of insanity that carries all the way to the end.
