This is a dreadful film. It's painfully forced in its humor, puerile, enthusiastic in portraying racial minorities in the worst light, and the costumes are pretty ugly. It's not that it aged badly, I suspect it was wasn't that well received in its own time. The conception and the execution are both to blame. The Star Creatures of the title are the least worst part of it (though those costumes aren't doing them favors) compared to their human counterparts. I'm not going to give it the lowest possible star rating because it manages not to do a few other things that would have made me hate it more which other movies I have seen did do. If you don't take it seriously at all, you might be able to spot a few moments that aren't terribly offputting in it. But I'm not going to tell you that that would really be worth the effort
