𝖍𝖔𝖔𝖕𝖙𝖔𝖇𝖊𝖗 𝖝 𝖓𝖎𝖌𝖍𝖙 𝖙𝖜𝖊𝖑𝖛𝖊: I would classify this one as existential horror about unpacking your childhood trauma, implemented with an assist from cosmic horror. It's basically the two epigrams from the beginning, one part Lovecraft, one part jokey folk wisdom. I don't know if it quite comes together in the end, but I enjoyed trying to work out what was going on based on what we see early on, as well as how some of the different [PARANORMAL PHENOMENON REDACTED] scenarios were staged later on. I got the sense in a few spots that we were missing certain shots/effects due to budgetary limitations, which wasn't too big of a hump to get over but there were a couple of times where I wondered if I'd missed something crucial. Now that I've seen a full theatrical length film from these guys, I kinda want to check out the rest just to get more of an idea of their range. This one felt like a pretty straight-down-the-middle indie drama, I'm curious to see what else they can do.
