时间的皱折 - 评论

This movie definitely has its heart in the right place, and DuVernay is clearly trying with all of her might to bring the socially relevant aspects of L'Engle's story to the surface of her adaptation. Unfortunately, the movie is still burdened with all of the forced whimsy and eye-rolling wordplay that made me dislike the book even when I was in elementary school. Combined with the grotesque production design and badly implemented green-screen FX that make every scene not set in the real world look like something out of the Spy Kids universe, it's made this really hard to sit through as an adult. It's a shame, because I was really hoping to see DuVernay break through and apply her abundant gifts as a narrative and documentary filmmaker to genre films, but it just was not in the cards here.
