a review of 小鬼当家

I had an idea once to open a pizza shop that only makes cheese pizzas and to call it McCallister's. I thought about how it could offer different cheeses and sauces, and how the mascot would a very stereotypical pizza-maker looking guy that would cross his arms and say "I make the pizza!", which I understand doesn't fit with the name McCallister's, but that was part of what amused me so much, that it didn't make sense. My Letterboxd username comes from this movie, and was also the OK Cupid username of a girl I met on there back in 2008. We hung out a few times, and I told her about McCallister's, but neither the pizza shop nor our hanging out ended up making it that far. I also have a strong memory of being in third grade and getting upset that all of my classmates had seen Home Alone within the first couple of weeks that it had come out and were always talking about it at school, and I think that my being upset made my dad feel bad so he finally took me to see it and I'm pretty sure he loved it just as much as I did. And so here's to the memory of my dad. And of Annie. And of McCallister's, where a lovely cheese pizza is always just for you. Oh! Also, this movie is pretty darned great and still holds up.
