2019 Cult Movie Challenge Week 48: Troma Week I was pleasantly surprised by how straightforwardly fun this one was. On one hand, it's clearly a cheapo parody of the by then well trodden slasher genre, but the straight-faced degree to which it goes all-in on its premise of a psycho fisherman stalking the Upper Midwest is pretty admirable. In some ways, it actually takes itself a bit more seriously than certain contemporaneous sequels in mainstream horror franchises of the time.
