HOOPTOBER ORIGINS 2.0 NIGHT SIX: A much dumber, extra-hyperbolic version of the first movie transplanted to a near-future LA that nonetheless has some fun additions to the mythology, including the ALIENS easter egg that gave rise to a whole crossover franchise. It's also nice that Danny Glover gets a chance to be the main action-movie badass instead of just the guy who's too old for this shit. Overall, it feels of a piece with other contemporary SF movies like the Robocop sequels or Demolition Man, except played more or less straight instead of as bonkers social satire.
