Watching this one as part of my Bond marathon running up to No Time To Die. After finally watching FRwL all the way through (I'd only seen bits and pieces, and played the Gamecube game) on New Year's Eve, I have to agree with the conventional wisdom that things don't start to get really good until Goldfinger and Thunderball. Robert Shaw does a good job of making Red Grant a memorable villain and I liked his interplay with Bond, but it felt pretty dry for the whole first half until we got on the Orient Express. Kerim Bey's Istanbul intel ring seems like a chill place to hang out and I was OK with the travelogue elements, but it felt like it took forever to finally get to everything with Tanja and the codebreaking machine. But once we were over that hump I enjoyed it quite a bit.
