Although it starts off like a fairly standard horror film, it ends up transforming itself into both a darkly-comedic love story and a Coenesque double-cross thriller by the end. The longish running time works in its favor, because every time I thought I had seen the movie's final form, it morphed into something else, with no part of the narrative feeling either tacked-on or underdeveloped. I think I'm going to need to jump back on with the Blank Check podcast's Park Chan-wook series (which I skipped when I couldn't conveniently track down OLDBOY, prior to it being reissued on Blu-ray), both to fill in my gaps on Park's filmography, but also to rewatch the ones I've already seen.
