HOOPTOBER ONE NIGHT SIX: + PODCAST MACABRE 2022 HORROR CHALLENGE #30: LOWEST RATED FILM ON WATCHLIST Hoo-boy. It's hard to even know where to begin here. I can appreciate Glenn Danzig's entrepreneurial spirit in trying to make his own creepy goth-Guignol porn, but it doesn't take long before it becomes clear that he has no idea what he's doing behind a camera or in an editing bay. Every single shot is held way too long and ends in an equally luxurious fade to black, making the experience of watching the movie feel at times like you're just sort of randomly nodding off between scenes. Combined with the unnecessarily deliberate pacing and almost non-existent narrative flow, it's hard to tell sometimes when one story ends and another begins. Everything in the movie looks preposterously cheap, as though the costumes and props were all bought on clearance from a pop-up Halloween shop. On top of everything else, it's not even particularly erotic, even when he stages blood-drinking/heart-ripping scenes to look like something from the Adam & Eve collection.
