HOOPTOBER NINE! NIGHT SIXTEEN! + 2022 CULT MOVIE CHALLENGE WEEK 41: VINCENT PRICE WEEK + 2022 PODCAST MACABRE HORROR CHALLENGE CATEGORY 17: From the 1950s not seen before Really jazzed to have finally seen this one after literal decades of mixing it up with THE HAUNTING and/or THE HAUNTING OF HILL HOUSE; I'm given to understand the confusion was at least partially intentional on the part of William Castle, who wanted to capitalize on the book's success while the iron was still hot. Had a lot of fun with second-guessing the narrative twists and whether this was truly a haunted house movie or just a murder mystery, and Price seems to be having a blast as the host. I may have to look into the '90s remake to see if it holds a candle.
