It was interesting to see this having already seen GDT's Frankenstein (2025) months ago, but also after having just revisited, of all things, Darkman (1990). The latter because of how much of a little Universal sci-fi/horror / noir mashup it is, and the former because it's Frank's creation story. While Guillermo didn't literally pass a torch to Maggie, I think she did a wonderful job with The Bride! of saying "Thank you for setting the table, now here's dinner and a show!" It was more fun than I was expecting it to be. Jessie is incredible! Christian's great! Annette, Penélope, Peter, Jake and John were terrific support! What holds me back from the 4 that I leaned towards for much of its runtime is that it kinda just keeps going. If it was a tighter hour 30 or even an hour 45, it'd be higher for me, but either it ran out of juice or I ran out of steam at some point. The highs are high here, though, so don't let me stop you from having a good time.
