a review of 万恶城市

MANNVANUARY THREE, #15: In retrospect, this movie feels like a semi-corny artifact of the '80s/'90s drug war, with the focus on street-level gangsters behaving like comic book villains, and undercover cops simply playing "pretend" instead of truly roiling with internal conflict. It's very much content to simply be a surface-level treatment of its subject, and as such it's quite stylish and has pretty terrific (if quite campy) performances from Ice-T and Snipes.
