穿越时空的科学家 - 评论

#94 (April 4/30) (This review is for the MST3K version, now on Netflix) Another terrific episode of the revived MST3K, feels like they've gotten into the normal stride here. The movie is an appealing 1960s oddity, curiously lacking in any form of dramatic tension or suspense, to the point that it feels more like a series of kooky vignettes about life in the weird mutants-and-androids future. Most of the practical FX are thinly-disguised theatrical illusions, complete with mirrored boxes and sleight-of-hand gimmicks, so it's easy to see why this movie might have appealed to Joel in compiling the list of films for this season. The gag with Servo flying up to "lift" the rocket ship single-handedly justified the new addition to his character, and the sketch with Joel and new head writer Elliott Kalan as two creepy space swingers augurs great things for the show in terms of the tradition of drafting writers as performers.
