HOOPTOBER ORIGINS 2.0 NIGHT TWENTY-TWO: Went in hoping for something on the same level as either "Maniac" or "Basket Case" in terms of delivering a grungy Ed Koch-era NYC slasher and ended up getting a real mish-mash. I haven't seen any other of Abel Ferrara's movies, but I have to assume he develops his POV as a filmmaker beyond the fairly rote, yet also unconvincing social commentary on display here.
