HOOPTOBER 4.0 NIGHT TWENTY-FIVE + PODCAST MACABRE 2025 44. Spanish-language I wasn't entirely prepared for how bleak this one ended up being, but I really respect it for putting a compelling spin on zombie/demonic possession movie cliches for the 21st century. Instead of an all-at-once apocalypse of mindless ghouls and demonic forces, it's more like a slow civil war where civilization and basic human decency are being worn down a bit at a time by forces we don't know how to reckon with, which takes its toll on everyone in different ways. I want to revisit it sometime now that I know its shape, but it's going to be a while before I think I'll be ready.
