HOOPTOBER XII NIGHT TWENTY & 2025 PODCAST MACABRE CHALLENGE #53: From my watchlist A deliciously slow-paced supernatural mystery that I will admit didn't fully land for me on the first watch. There's an interesting mix of serious and comedic tones, chiefly in the lead performance by Kwak Do-won (whose wide-eyed expressions occasionally reminded me of Lou Costello in the Universal monster comedies) as a buffoonish middle-aged village cop who ends up becoming the dramatic moral center of the film. I appreciated both the ambiguity behind what's going on, as well as the film's refusal to put all of its chips down on one particular possibility, but it did leave me with questions in the end. I'm marking this down as one I need to make time to see again, now that I have a sense of where it's all going.
