a review of 海王2:失落的王国
Solid follow-up. Don’t get the hate. James Wan basically just does more of what he did the first time around and that still proves to be a winning formula. So if you liked the previous Aquaman there’s no reason you shouldn’t like this one too. You get more Indiana Jones-esque globetrotting, the same cheesy sense of humor, Jason Momoa continuing to be a likable dude, better underwater action than the latest Avatar flick, and a spectacular looking aquatic world that’s a splendid mix of Star Wars, Wakanda, and even a hint of Lord of the Rings. You also get stuff that feels like an early glimpse into Wan’s reported upcoming Call of Cthulhu adaptation, which has this Lovecraft fan SUPER stoked, and an unexpectedly charming Patrick Wilson performance. All in all a fine note for the DCEU to go out on, because the horror maestro proves once again he can direct a blockbuster just as well as he can the latest scarefest.
