It reminded me of the very first Toho Godzilla film, emphasizing the human stakes and portraying the kaiju as a pure force of nature with overwhelming power. The main story really moved me with how much sacrifice and commitment was on the line. Both the visuals and the soundtrack really had a punch with this monster really earning the dread promised by the iconic Godzilla theme. Such a smart movie that delivered an honest message. I'm just sorry I didn't get a chance to see it in a theater.
