《绅士联盟》是BBC在1999年出品的英式系列黑色喜剧。故事发生在一个以英国北部的坎布里亚郡阿尔斯通为原型的小镇——罗伊斯屯儿。这个小镇上生活着非常怪诞的居民，这里的所有人都是编剧马克·加蒂斯，史蒂夫·佩姆伯顿，杰瑞米·德桑 ，里斯·谢尔史密斯笔下的角色。四位编剧在1995组建了以“绅士联盟”为名的喜剧团体。
没有听过这部剧童鞋肯定听过被各大媒体公众号各种推荐的另外两部英剧“疯城记”"9号密事"。如果对这两部剧欲罢不能，那就绝对不能错过绅士联盟。因为绅士联盟可以说是雏形版的“疯城记”"9号密事"，少了点暗黑，多了份幽默，谁叫他们的编剧都是 Steve Pemberton、Reece ShearSmith两位鬼才呢。

Series 2 (2000)
The second series sees a deadly epidemic of nosebleeds grip the town's inhabitants, killing many. The plot is resolved after some confusion over the cause of the nosebleeds, involving butcher Hilary Briss' "special stuff", Benjamin Denton's escape from his relatives, and the murders in the Local Shop.

Series 3 (2002)
The third and final series focused on a different character each week but with the overlaps creating a more complex layering of the plot, more akin to a one-off episode of a situation comedy (albeit with intertwined plots) than a traditional sketch show. The end of each episode features a white van swerving to avoid a pedestrian and crashing into a garden wall. Some residents escape unharmed, while others are not so lucky. A red plastic bag is seen being blown by the wind through the town in every episode, indicating that all the stories occur simultaneously. This is the only series that does not include a laughter track.

Alone in the chapel of hope on Christmas Eve Reverend Bernice hates Christmas,since her mother was carried off by Papa Lazarou disguised as Santa Claus when she was a child. She has three visitors. The first is Charlie Hull,convinced from his recurring nightmare that his wife Stella is using a voodoo coven called the Solutions to stop him winning the line-dance contest. Then an old man who visited Herr Lipp and his wife in 1975 recounts the saga of Lipp's fascination with cute young choirboy Matthew and his belief that Lipp was a vampire. Finally Chinnery comes to unburden himself as to why he is such a bad vet. In Victorian times his great-great-grandfather,the finest vet in England,came to Royston Vasey but was tricked into touching the wrong monkey's testicle,as a result of which all succeeding vets in the family have been cursed. Bernice feels happier after consoling Chinnery but she is unaware that history is about to repeat itself.
