An abstract painting, consisting of horizontal stripes of color on a canvas. The first six stripes are pretty simple: Just thick stripes of red, yellow, green, alternating with one another. After that, the stripes are colors layered over one another, so in the white stripe, some blue comes through, or the green peeks through the yellow. Towards the bottom of the canvas, the artist stops painting stripes altogether, and the colors dribble down the remaining bare canvas.

My version of the goddess of spring and lady of the underworld, Persephone. She is a skull floating above blue ruffles, with an infinity sign on her forehead and flowers perched on the skull. She has a pierced eyebrow with a heart charm dangling on it, lots of purple tones and bubbles coming at you against some curvy lines.

Vivid lines in neon rainbow colors of a skull being swallowed by moss against a black background, recolored pencil linework.

Flower from a Sarracenia rosea pitcher plant. It has drooping pink petals that hang from a yellow upside down umbrella shaped style that captures the pollen, under sepals that are red on the outside and yellow on the inside, and look a lot like peels from an apple.

squeezing in one last decembird with this loquacious lad, gary nubird. the starling is rarer & rarer in scotland; so, sadly, i've never had the distinct honour of hearing one bust out a classic electro riff. i'll bet they do it all the time, though, with their little customised roland tr-808s.

It's getting to be that time of year to draw pumkpkins and spooky stuff (just kidding. ALL year is the time to draw spooky stuff :P)

This is the result of my first attempt at a new technique i came up with for making layered laser-cut #art

It involves hand-drawing each layer on paper, with a light box underneath so you can see each previous layer, and get a good idea of what it's going to look like when assembled. Then scanning it using an old sk00l scanner, and then vectorize the bitmap. Once laser-cut, hand-paint with acrylics like it's a canvas. :)
