I have awful ADHD and I always forget when I say I'll make a phone call. this setup has worked well enough for me to get through a couple days worth of calls.

first image: paper files. inbox, todo, outbox, scrap. following the excellent book Getting Things Done, "inbox" and "todo" are separate piles. The difference is this: any sort of Stuff goes in the inbox, but only Actions go in the todo. more on that later. also, Eggbug (and Junimo!) for moral support.

second image: a digital folder titled "Memo". it's a bunch of markdown text files. "@todo" works the same as the paper todo box, Actions only. "@log" is for me to take notes while I'm on the phone. "@when" is for me to keep track of anything that I need to follow up on, for instance if I want to follow up in a week, I would make an entry like "after 2025-08-01, call Mastercard again at (1-800-627-8372)." 1/

a camera image of a cardboard mock up of an electronic device with the intention of having 8 buttons on the back, and 4 switches or buttons on each side in the thumb posotion and being able to display and or type in braille or utf-8 or other encoded character systems. the cardboard cuttout is 7.25 inches tall and 4 inches wide. there are finger holes cut out at 8 ergonomic intervals simulating button positions on the back of the device. These would be buttons which indicate a 1 or 0 are visually passed through to the person holding it and represent the different character mappings. this could have an wntire screen over it and then be used as an authoring device with eink and potentially haptic feedback, which is one of my goala also long term.

Time for a new #introduction post after the move!

I'm Sar, a 50yr old nerdy guy from Northern Ireland. I love IT, and am into tech and all things computing.

My hobbies include playing #WorldOfWarcraft, reading about World Of #Warcraft and thinking about #WoW

Seriously though, my *other* hobbies also include:

I'm also awaiting the results of my #Autism diagnosis as I write this, and am also fairly confident I have #ADHD as well, giving me the #AuDHD super-deluxe wombo-combo 😂

I decided to make the jump to this self-hosted instance at the end of 2025 after many happy years on masto.ai/@sar, and have no regrets.
