squeezing in one last decembird with this loquacious lad, gary nubird. the starling is rarer & rarer in scotland; so, sadly, i've never had the distinct honour of hearing one bust out a classic electro riff. i'll bet they do it all the time, though, with their little customised roland tr-808s.

The tranquil landscape features multiple layers of mountains that gradually fade from rich greens in the foreground to softer blues in the background.
3. A black and white Tuxedo cat stands in front of a dreamy abstract background in various shades of blue and gazes curiously upwards. Soft, loose, abstract brushstrokes create a sense of depth and movement around the cat.

Robin in a holly bush is a hand painted watercolour painting in landscape format painted by the artist Karen Kaspar. A robin sits on a branch in a holly bush and looks to the right. It is surrounded by green leaves and red berries. I was woken this morning by two kookaburras making a racket down the side passage. Turns out their beaks were stuck together (!)

While they scrambled and fought, trying to pull apart, a currawong sat on the fence commentating the life-or-death struggle.

After my sleepy brain had made sense of what the bloody hell was going on, I fetched some gloves and gently prised them apart. They both flew off in high dudgeon.

What a surreal start to the day.
