My GoToSocial instance has been running for more than a month now, and so I gathered the different bits and pieces of my experience running it, and made them into a blog post. I talk about resources usage, monitoring and backups.
Also, sharing the link on this fedi account running on the mentioned GTS instance is an experiment in itself, to see how my server will handle the traffic

I rather like the recent addition of likes/reposts on Federated wordpress blogs.
Before this add, you couldn't directly see how many likes/reblogs you had in the web interface. You had to dig. Now you don't, and it's quite nice.

突发奇想自发一个问卷，问卷爱好者没问卷做就自己出一个！从 A 到 Z，浏览器给的第一个推荐都是什么呢？上面是我的结果。好奇不同地区、职业和 demographics 上网习惯有多大差异
最近做木工的劲头都是因为偶然刷到这个博客（link #1），两位同好在地下室做木工的记录，博客很简单，但记录了几百件成品，突然就被激励起来了。花了一个星期把这个博客的内容都刷完了，还从某篇中挖到一个超级资源：MoMA 发布的出版平台（免费，link #2），里面关于家具的就有 42 本！下了几本来看，图片、排版和布局都非常精美，赏心悦目！

开脑洞往前倒推人生不同几个节点上做出的几个选择，和如果选择不同现在会过怎样一种人生。
Also it's funny that，最近的一个 pivot point 也是十多年前的事了，好像学生时代的选择真的对人生轨迹改变更大，工作了之后万变不离其宗过着波澜不惊的社畜生活。当然真的要改变的话也可以改变很大，毕竟没有被传统婚姻生育这种 timeline 严格的轨迹所限制，只是习惯性倾向规矩里更容易的生活。在大脑还没有发育完全，对社会规则一窍不通的年纪，就要凭借想象走这么多步棋，人生的本质还是 YOLO 呀。

作为一个热衷写测评体验的尝试新玩意儿的消费主义博主，家里的设备一直换新很快，玩电子产品最凶的时候甚至几个月换一次主力手机、电脑和智能手表。外加三年前从加州搬到西雅图没拿多少东西，就算挺喜欢完全能继续用的大件也基本都是搬过来才买的，这就导致家里 5 年以上的设备更少了。能用这么久证明消费主义如我也用它们很顺手没有升级必要，这里稍微写个总结回顾一下这些老当益壮的设备。

现在这个博客的“建站”日其实应该是 2020 年 10 月 29 日，时隔多年之后终于趁着建长毛象的时候域名买都买了克服了拖延症重回独立博客界。虽然用 Wordpress 的时候也挺高产，但远不如迁移到 hugo 之后来得上心，遂用静态博客启用的时间（2023 年 5 月 31 日）开始作为现在这个博客的建站纪念日。这一晃竟然就是第二个周年的博客总结了，不折腾如我装修小记也写到第四篇了。时光飞逝岁月如梭啊。

在 Allison 那里看到受长毛象嘟主印象启发的博客印象收集，本问卷爱好者立刻来了！虽然是长毛象重度用户，但记性不好无法贡献对别的嘟主（哪怕是挺熟的）的印象，因此也一直没玩过毛象嘟主印象。博客就不一样了，大家的站风格鲜明，而且不在记忆里的话稍微进去翻两页就想起来是哪位博主了，比较好检索，感觉更适合我。

今年一鼓作气合并了生活总结和书影游总结，在精简废话方面还是有进步的（虽然还是很长）。
新年从生活习惯到目标上都有了一些调整，能不能看到改变明年再说啦
写博客对我而言是再自然不过的一件事情，因此年年写年终总结也毫无阻力反而成为期待新年的动力之一。每年都会有“庸庸碌碌过了一年什么也没干“的感觉，但每年写完年终总结又会发现其实还是干了很多事情的。这大概也是年终总结，乃至生活博客的强行拔高意义之一吧——把虚无缥缈的记忆变成 tangible 的文字来对抗时间流逝记忆消退的螳臂当车，还能更好地 appreciate 生活。

去年底入职新工作，恢复了两周一次发工资，外加现金流增加了，就感觉中间差值的时间让钱放在利率可以忽略不计的 checking 账户里有点亏，来回手动在 HYSA (high yeild saving account)和 checking 之间打又过于琐碎和麻烦。于是趁着新工作，一鼓作气把用了十年的现金流 workflow 连根拔起重整优化了一下。
另外，新的一年了，大家记得 contribute to IRA & 调整 401K & HSA contribution. 恭喜发财！
