I don't know how many web sites out there implement Webmention (I guess very few), but given that it has been very simple to implement, here it is.
Long live the non-big-tech Internet.

Also did AI just ruin the term vibe? I can't vibe anymore, can I. A sad, vibeless day.
Back in June I wrote about an exciting confluence of digital auth tech:
(1) The commodification of #OIDC infrastructure, (2) the emergence of #FedCM, (3) and the compatibility of both with #indieauth .
In short, it is now easier than ever to log into web applications using your own website as an identity provider. Or at least, it would be, if your favorite web apps supported these agency-enhancing technologies.

A simple technique called “POSSE” offers the best of both worlds: total control over your own work, while still maintaining a presence on third-party social media platforms.
"What if we didn’t think of a website as one thing that answers to a million people? What if instead, there were millions of websites, each one handmade by a single person?"
Speaking of online communities, is your personal website part of a webring?

This is a nice list of blogging platforms that highlights free options. Now you really have no excuse not to give blogging a try!
"Relational creation means recognizing the value that others have brought to you, and wanting to acknowledge it publicly. That means crediting… that means linking."

Hi! If you are one of the folks interested in those #BlogQuestionsChallenge things that people around the #indieweb are doing, I made a bot that picks a random topic from a given list and posts 3 questions about those topics that you can answer on your blog!
Right now it will post every other Friday at 12pm EST.
Credit to @shellsharks for the idea!
Issue #4 of the HTML Review, an annual journal of "literature made to exist on the web".
"This exercise got me thinking about the ways we attempt to be present and to feel the presence of others in online spaces. I often find myself turning to the Internet when I feel most alone, seeking ways to feel connected to others; to feel seen by others."
Are creative online bots (the kind you can find on https://botwiki.org/bots) part of the indie web? 🤔
