Great actress #신은수 (Shin EunSu) solidified she deserves the title «K-drama's Girlfriend-next-door» in #LoveUntangled ( #고백의역사 )

The P-drama «It's Okay to Not Be Okay» (2025) is an adaptation of the K-drama of the same name ( «사이코지만 괜찮아» (2020)). Here's my reaction about the premiere episodes.

MDL lists "comedy" as one of the genres for 12 episode #kDrama #TheWinningTry - there are total of maybe 15 minutes of comedy in the first 11 episodes. Of course, having started nearly 500 #kDrama I know that wallowing in misery, pain and the triumph of evil IS considered fun in #kDrama
A 2015 medical drama.
Vote: 8/10.
Compared to more recent k-dramas it shows a bit less surgery details. Probably the budget for special effects in collapsing buildings and earthquake destruction didn't leave much room for anything else.
And I don't know exactly what happened but characters in the past were more daring when it comes to romance. I loved the secondary couples and the main couple kiss scene. The ending was disappointing though.
To my Korean friends. There's something in the International communities that you probably might want to be aware of:
The view is now shifting that all the "bullying" allegations are fake. People started to notice that whenever a celebrity is rising, there's a very convenient "bullying" allegation.
Of course, who cares about non-Koreans and the perception of International fans, right? It's understandable, your culture, your problems, your own.
But, who knows, maybe it does matter to you guys. Or, it might affect the #Kpop & #Kdrama industries later. So, just a friendly heads-up. 🙇🏽🖖🏽
#DidYouKnow that there is a Fibonacci sequence in the #Kdrama #NinePuzzles ( #나인퍼즐 )?
I explained it here:
Teaser for my upcoming article re: "The Witch" / "The Tyrant" franchise.
Debunked interpretations and fan theories:
1. Part 1. The Subversion happened in 2018
2. Part 2. The Other One happened in 2022
3. The Tyrant was a prequel / origin story
4. The Tyrant happened in 2024
5. 채자경 (Chae Jakyeong) escaped from the same facility as 구자윤 (Gu Jayun)
6. The event 장 (Jang) and 조현 (Johyeon) had a massive defeat—where everyone else in their unit died—was during the escape of 구자윤 (Gu Jayun)
Coming soon!

Some of you may remember our questions for non-serious awards that we created after 2024's Drama Challenge.
The suggestion was to do a challenge for the Lunar New Year.
Since we have a few newbies joining us in the Fediverse, I thought I'd let them know & remind people that we'll start at the Lunar New Year. It'll only be a little over 2 weeks of questions, so the list will have to be narrowed down a bit - but we can rotate questions next year.

If you're confused about the story and ending of #SLine #S라인 , here's an "S-Line Explained" I wrote:

@allkpop Is the first #Kpop & #Kdrama news site I saw which enabled #Fediverse Threads.
This is beneficial to the Fediverse network because Kpop and Kdrama related accounts are one of the most sought after in social media or SNS, which, let's be honest, pretty much lacking in the Fediverse. (Many of them easily embraced the ATmosphere network instead.)
Every now and again, a rare flash of adult maturity imposes itself on my decision-making - like right now when it's 00:!5 on Saturday morning and I stop watching #kDrama #MoneyFlower with just 5 eps left because I have a 7 hour night shift starting at 18:00 I'm so proud of me! 🤣
The #Kdrama #DearX ( #친애하는X ) is the most divisive #TV series of 2025. Just look at the heated debates in this section: https://mydramalist.com/688265-dear-x
- For- vs anti- FL
- For- vs anti- JunSeo
- For- vs anti- husband
And that's just three common topics.
Next, if you're confused about the "cult scene" and the 2FL in the finale episode of #SLine #S라인 , here's a beautiful take on it:

Wow, the #Viu #HallyuDash is expensive. It's like buying tickets to a huge #Kpop #Kdrama concert/fanmeet. 😅
"3%" from Brazil and "Bon Appetit, Your Majesty" from South Korea exist in a shared universe in that they both know exactly what the game engine is that underlies their series premise and the writers deploy that game engine skillfully and elegantly in each episode (at least in the first few seasons of 3%).
I recommend both series to anyone interested in advanced episodic writing.

Few people notice this: there is often a monthly & quarterly theme in #Kdrama
This month and last month, the recurring theme is #euthanasia or "assisted death", and #Switzerland is sometimes mentioned in passing. (IIRC, there was a K-drama that touched on this earlier this year.)
Usually, this has to do with current social sentiments and discussions. Writers and directors who still values social issues more than entertainment produce projects based on what's the current trend or pressing issue/discussion. Again, usually. The other possibility, someone or some group is pulling the strings.
However these themes occur, it gives us some insight intothe cultural and social situation in South Korea.
As we all know, fiction can influence the people's views and sentiments on sensitive issues, directly and indirectly. It may not be evident immediately but it will be eventually.
It looks like it is euthanasia or assisted death this time. It's a war on minds. Push and pull. Either make it common so people become comfortable with it and make it easi for politicans and news to openly discuss it, or write the stories in a way that will make people to reject it.
It's good to openly discuss sensitive topics and use fiction to put cultural and social issues up front, as long as fiction isn't used to push one side or an agenda.
---
P.s.
I used "assisted death" and not "assisted suicide" not because I'm being politically correct, rather I do believe and think it is more appropriate and accurate.
For me, the word "suicide" is religious or ethical or moral-based, and is relative to the person.
I personally do not have an opinion about assisted death and/or euthanasia, other than it is not "assisted suicide".

First, #Hollywood started rebooting successful franchises.
Next, the #gaming industry started doing Classic this and classic that.
Then, the #anime world got stuck in the dungeon.
Followed by the #Kdrama scene now dominated by #Webtoon adaptations.
Conclusion: Global writers drought.
