Me he puesto a instalar Linux Mint mediante un pendrive en un ordenador y se me ha quedado congelado hace 50min (la pantalla está bloqueada, no se mueve el cursor y me aparece la hora de las 21:10 fija) con la barrita de carga que no habrá llegado ni al 10% (pone “Copiando archivos...”). Había seleccionado la opción de que me formatee el ordenador e instale Linux Mint sin partición de disco. ¿Qué puedo hacer? :(

So why is Microsoft insisting on pushing out a feature it is very clear users just do not want? What is the point of it? It just does not make any sense. Recall makes no sense. It is one of rather many functions that Microsoft wants to force people into using.

Personally I also do not want Copilot on my computer and the idea that there can be a key on my keyboard that I can press that will enable by mistake it is not what I would think most people want.

I believe that there should be a very clear line between what is on your computer and what is in the cloud. Forcing people to log into a Microsoft online account to use their computer is crazy. Having people mistakenly enabling OneDrive is another disaster.

I guess this is all a great opportunity for Linux.

Edit: Thanks to @GeopJr for pointing this out: this AI assistant is a third-party project and not directly affiliated with the GNOME desktop. I was tripped up by the wording of the Phoronix post I shared, which could have made this point clearer. I'll leave the original post below for the sake of transparency and also in case it helps anyone else who was similarly confused.

I am very twitchy about what's happening with AI polluting every corner of Microsoft Windows and am worried the same will happen to at least some Linux distributions. I think the worry is warranted, but in this case I misfired--sorry about that.

#Presentación Aunque no soy nuevo, soy torpe y borré la cuenta anterior intentando simplificar cuentas e instancias.
Soy linuxero, de tendencias ácratas, esperantista y apasionado de las radios. Me gusta la fotografía y la denuncia social. If you run a linux phone, how do you handle android specific apps? Like, for instance, my banking app, or my government ID app that only run on android.

Also open to hearing which linux phone you like best, or if you just use a random device as your phone, what is it, and what do you run on it?

I've been considering using the pilet as my daily driver phone going forward when it finally ships, but I wanted to know, how do I handle the "sometimes I still need an android app" side of things, and even if I didn't get the pilet, I'd still want a linux phone, as android feels less and less like it will remain open forever.
